Nathan Scott a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina graduated from the North Carolina School of Arts - Winston-Salem, NC with a degree in music performance in 2004. His primary instrument is the bass. Nathan began playing the bass at age 12 with the guidance and mentoring of his father who also plays the bass.

Some of his more notable achievements consist of winning the ASTA National Bass solo competition and being selected as the "Principal Bass" of the National High School Honors Orchestra in 1998. He has also been a member of the Winston-Salem symphony orchestra since 2001. Nathan has been a free-lance jazz bassist in North Carolina since 2001 performing with various artists in the triad including Melva Houston, Joe Robinson, and Chris Murrell.

Nathan was formally a member of the regional band "Gomachi" who perform at the Mid Atlantic Music Festival. The band has been the opening act for John Scohield and Carl Denson. He has also performed with guitarist Derek Trucks. Nathan has been a member of Reggie Buie Trio since mid 2004.
